Liming in St. Vincent and the Grenadines – The REAL Caribbean!

ht w friends

What is this “liming” you speak of?

Well, according to Wiktionary, liming is:

Verb

liming (Alternate forms: limin’ or lyming)

    1. (Trinidadian, Caribbean, slang) hanging around, usually in a public place with friends, enjoying the scene.
“No Liming or Loitering – No Shouting or Loud Noise” (written on a sign in Port of Spain shopping mall).
Liming is the art of doing NOTHING. Some people might call it being lazy, but most lime time is well-deserved. Sometimes you just need to set aside work, put yourself in a time out, and just let go. So, whether you are doing nothing with your friends or nothing by yourself – you are pretty much,  what? ya, doing nothing. Kinda like an episode of Jerry Seinfield except they put WAY too much thought and effort into their liming. It’s something, oh you know, that you might do on say a hot Friday night or a lazy Sunday morning. But you can lime any time! There are no restrictions or special rules to liming.  Need help with that? Contact LtD Sailing for your liming therapy. During our Caribbean ASA sailing courses or skippered yacht charters, we offer plenty of opportunity to lime!

Examples of liming:

(As you will see, limin’ often involves sailboats, hammocks and cold beverages!)
